More Wedding Pictures Coming SOON!

I got a CD of my wedding pictures that works yesterday; however, I sent the laptop off to have its battle scars repaired. I hate dealing with the desktop so as soon as Dell sends me back a laptop, the repaired one or my new one, I will post more wedding pictures.

I know I had something else to write when I started this post, but it took me 15 minutes to write these few sentences, because my lovely darling keeps pushing the keyboard draw back in. So now I cannot remember what else it was I wanted to write. Oh well, maybe you will get another post later when I remember :)

My Great Big Monday Ordeal

Yesterday was not a good day for me. I have Anatomy class on Mondays and Wednesdays so I got up at 6:30 AM to get ready. Cooper woke up like he always does when I get out of bed so I took him to the living room to nurse so that he would be less angry with me when I had to leave him. After he nursed for a little while I went to go find some socks. I put Cooper down and as I stand back up I hit the floor with an awful pain slightly below my shoulder blades right in the middle of my back. My first thought was that I was dying. A little dramatic, I know, but that is what I thought. Then I thought maybe pleurasy(sp?). I had it a couple years ago and this felt very much like it, someone stabbing me with a very dull knife. Bu then I thought there is no way it would hit that fast. I could not breathe because it was so painful and I definately could not move. I was helped back to the living room to wait until my doctor's office opened. There was just no way I was going to the ER. I called my doctor and he worked me in. My dad took me to the appointment because my third-shift-working husband had to sleep. My doctor confirmed what I was now thinking; I had a strained muscle. I blame my very large boobs for this event by the way. My doctor knew very little about the medicines that can be taken while breastfeeding, so he asked me to call Cooper's pediatrician for some guidance on the matter. When the nurse from the peds office called me back she informed me that they can tell me if a specific medication is safe, but cannot just tell me what I can and cannot take. I was more than a little irritated. I decided to call my pharamacy, which is what I should have done in the first place.

This is a wonderful pharamacy. When I was pregnant, I got a bad sinus infection and had to take an antibiotic. It was shortly after I had gotten married. When someone went to pick up my antibiotic from this pharmacy they were having trouble with my insurance because of the name change and couldn't get it to go through with either last name. The kind pharmacist sent my medication anyway. She said that I needed it, and we would figure out the insurance later. How many CVS or Walgreens pharmacists would do that??

Anyway, back to yesterday's story... I called the pharmacy and was informed that some muscle relaxers say they are not to be taken while nursing and some say there have been no studies done; however, they are excreted in breastmilk and giving a baby anything that supresses muscle function risks supressing its breathing. I don't know about you, but I'm not taking that risk with my baby. My doctor gave me the option of stopping breastfeeding for a few days while I take the medicine. I couldn't do that to Cooper for my own comfort. I decided to tough it out with ibruprofen.

Later that afternoon, I was talking to Supermom on Facebook. She is also nursing and having some health issues right now. She reminded me that there are pain medicines a nursing mommy can take. So I called my doctor back and he said he would write me a prescription for one but since it was a controlled substance, it couldn't be called in. I would have to come get it. My husband drove me back to the doctor to get the script and then to the pharmacy, 25 minutes away from the doctor's office, to get it filled.

So now I am medicated, and I feel much better as long as I stay medicated. I am quite out of it and apologize for any typos or gibberish that may be in this post. I am only taking half a pill at a time, but I am a weenie and meds kick my butt.

I have an Anatomy test tomorrow. I cannot function enough to take a test while on pain killers so I will have to suffer through my test. After that class I have to take my entrance exam into the nursing program. I will also have to suffer through that test. I could really use your prayers tomorrow if you wouldn't mind.

Now that you are caught up, I think I will go lay down until it is time for more medication.

I just finished the most awful paper ever. It was on Ethics. The fact that it was on Ethics is not what made it awful. What made it awful was the fact that my professor was so vague about what kind of paper he wanted. He said, "This paper is about the Greek tradition of ethics. Here is your book with the most boring, long, rambling chapter about the Greek tradition. Now write me a 3-5 page paper." Ok, maybe that isn't exactly what he said but close enough. Oh well, its over now. My paper has been sent to my lovely friend for editing and even though it is not my best work, it will have to do because its all I could do.

In other news... I blew up a lasagna today. It was sitting on the stove and I turned an eye on to make tea. I turned the wrong eye on though and it happened to be the one under the lasagna. The smoke alarm went off and Jerry and I went to the kitchen to see why. I saw a smoking lasagna and a red hot eye peeking out from underneath it. I turned the eye off and Jerry told me to move back while he moved the lasagna. I turned to step back and hear a huge pop. The pan exploded when he touched it. Thankfully, he wasn't seriously hurt. He had a few cuts on his leg that bled a little and a scrape/burn on his arm. We cleaned it up, but where the glass from the bottom of the pan that got so hot landed, there are burns in the linoleum. That floor is going to be replaced with hardwood soon anyway though so its not a big deal. It sure was scary though! We won't be having lasagna again for a while!

I took pictures but they will have to wait until tomorrow because, to be honest I just don't feel like transfering them tonight.

New Laptop!

I have just placed my order for a brand new pretty pink laptop from Dell. When you order the pink one it is $40 more but they donate some to Susan G. Comen. I had to get a different color anyway to be able to tell mine apart from my husband's laptop. And I get to make a difference! It's a win-win!

Yes, my husband already has a laptop that I have been using for school. But I am constantly reminded that it is his, not mine. He does this lovingly and as a joke of course, but I got scholarship refund money so why not get my own? It is a school expense so I think it is ok to spend the scholarship money on it. They don't tell you what you have to use it for. I'm not blowing it so I think its ok. Oh, and I also ordered my husband a new and upgraded battery for his laptop, because I'm a good wifey like that :)

My new laptop will be here around the middle of March. Sooner would be better as my husband's laptop will be shipped back to Dell next week to repair damages aquired in its encounter with a one year old. I bet you can't guess which one year old, can you?? I will take pictures of its battle scars before I ship it and post them for you to see if I remember.

I am so excited to get my laptop and set up everything as mine! I hope it comes sooner than it's estimated delivery date!

Another Ear Infection...

Last night, Cooper developed a runny nose that escalated into a stuffy nose. By 2 AM he could barely breathe. He couldn't go to sleep because he couldn't breathe through his nose. He couldn't nurse because, again, he couldn't breathe through his nose.

This morning, when we got up, his stuffy, runny nose was even worse. I noticed he felt a little warm so I took his temperature. It was 101.2 degrees. I called his doctor and brought him in. They were behind so it took forever. He was unbelievably fussy, screaming the entire time we were waiting in the room.

When we finally got to see the doctor, the diagnosis was just as I thought, ear infection. Not only an ear infection, but a double ear infection. This is his 8th or 9th ear infection, so now we are talking about tubes. We will be seeing an ENT probably sometime next week and go from there.

Tubes make me nervous. I don't want my baby put to sleep, but I know this is the best thing for him. Sick babies are just no fun. He is miserable. I want my baby better and if we have to get tubes to do it I guess that's what we'll do...

Just an Update

This will be just a small update on some happenings of the past week or so.

This is what happens when you let a one year old play with your Blackberry.

We ended up turning Cooper around in his car seat last weekend. It is the only way it would fit in Jerry's Jeep and he insisted on taking Cooper for a ride. After facing forward in the Jeep, Cooper refused to face the rear when he moved back to my car. As you can see, he loved getting to see everything!

Jerry ordered Cooper and himself matching TapOut shirts. They look pretty darn cute in them if I do say so myself! Cooper is just waking up and Jerry squints alot in pictures. Oh well, this is the best one I got.

This has been my life for the past couple nights. As I tried to study for my Anatomy exam last night, my son turned into the whiniest child on the planet. I mentioned to a friend I thought maybe he was getting sick. And sure enough, a runny nose started this evening...

...along with this lovely fit. But, yes he is still cute Olga :)

Dinner & Pictures

Last night we had friends over for dinner. I made my semi-famous shrimp scampi and cheese biscuits. Remind you of a certain restaurant? I thought so. K is my age and B is my husbands age. B2 is 3 months older than Cooper. Nice huh? We all get along well. (except for some sippy cup issues with the boys last night)

Isn't he a sweetheart? Can you tell that the boys had mac & cheese?
They were reluctant to have their picture made together but I got one.

This is from today. Cooper thought it would be cute to steal Mommy's lens cap.

This is from our 15 minute photo shoot this afternoon.

One of my first attempts at photoshop. See the blurry background but crisp clear Cooper?

Wedding pictures are still coming. It just may be awhile. I believe my disk is corrupted or something like that. I am getting a new one so be patient. There are more to come!

New Cars!

Jerry got a new Jeep yesterday. We traded my accord for it. He is completely and totally in love with it!

Today I got a new Rav4! My little car has been thorn in my side since before Cooper was born. It was a great first car for a 16 year old but not so great 8 months pregnant and really not great when you have to climb in and out buckling a car seat. This was long over due! We traded Jerry's Tacoma for it. I LOVE it! It rides so smooth and no climbing involved!

We are very content right now. We both got exactly what we wanted in a vehicle. I have a camera again. And for Valentines Day(and his birthday, and christmas, and our anniversary) Jerry is getting a handgun. (More about the redneck in my husband later.) Gotta love tax time :)

Wedding Pictures

Yesterday I bought the rights to all my wedding pictures. Before today I had a few prints but not many. So I am now going to share some of them with you! This will take a few days...

Look >>

Look over at my sidebar. You may or may not have noticed where it says something like Things I Blog About, the list is quite a bit shorter. I just went through and narrowed down my tags making them more precise and making it easier to find what you want to read. I did that for YOU! So go read something! And if you find something you like or want to dicuss, leave a comment!!! Enjoy :)

EXPECT MORE (and better!!!) PICTURES!

Tomorrow I am getting something I have wanted for a very long time! A DSLR camera! The Nikon D3000 to be exact! They have a great package deal on it at Best Buy right now. So with our tax refund money I am making my dream come true :) I am also getting Photoshop Elements 8 so I can play with my new better pictures more than just cropping and fixing red eye. I AM SOOO EXCITED! My son is going to hate pictures probably by Saturday afternoon.
Anyway, you can expect more and better pictures on my blog after tommorow. I promise to post my first pictures with my new camera as soon as I can put down my camera long enough! (I will probably even post a picture of the camera taken with my phone *giggle*
